The fundamentals of Operational Research are taught in this course. Focus is given to Operational research methodological approaches and techniques which are often used in order to solve operational problems typically faced by Engineers. The aim is to equip graduates of the Department of Civil Engineering with the appropriate theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in mathematical modeling and methods to solve decision problems. Except of the fundamental topics of linear programming and its applications, the curricula includes methods used to solve problems such as the transportation problem, assignment problem, Projects’ Time and Cost Programming, Network Analysis etc.
